The home design will be highly energy efficient – minimum of 50% less heating/cooling required than a current “stick-built home”. Built to last 100 years or more with minimal repairs, replacement, or maintenance required. Key building elements will include: 1) Home will consist of 3 BR – 3-Baths 2,100 SF; 2) Attached Workshop/garage 768 SF; 3) Helical Piles as the Foundation with crawl space under the entire house. (no concrete slab); 4) SIP panels (with R-26 and R-40 ratings) for home floor, exterior walls, and roof. For shop Exterior walls and roof. 5) Steel roof and Steel siding – 24 gauge; 6) Eastern facing – several 8’x8′ hurricane-rated energy efficient sliding-glass patio doors; 7) Extensive use of Clerestory windows on North-facing wall; 8) Extensive use of LVL Bamboo beams, rafters and trusses as well as Bamboo interior flooring and exterior decking. There is a very high prospect of importing all Bamboo and Patio doors (Dade County approved) from China. I visited China in April 2024. So you will be exposed to how this works as a unique learning opportunity as well. This property is in Lady Lake, FL. It will require a water well, septic, and emergency generator with large LP tank. I am looking for a Licensed General Contractor who is excited to learn how to build with all of these non-traditional BUT spectacular energy-efficient, eco-friendly, and proven longevity building components. This is not meant to be a full-time job offer. This however, is meant to be a great opportunity to start or propel your eco-green-high performance GC career and portfolio. I do not care how old you are, or how new you are as a Licensed GC. Only requirements are: 1. You are a Florida Licensed General Contractor, and 2.
