Job Summary:
The Licensed Insurance Agent will sell, solicit, and differentiate insurance plans that match the needs of health plan prospective members. The Licensed Insurance Agent will enroll members using both our internal CRM and external software into various health plans we represent. This individual will be trained on Medicare, systems, specific insurance products we represent, and the enrollment process.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Contact leads in a timely and appropriate fashion as set forth by the Company
• Manage and maintain book of business within health plans sales system
• Ensure that policy requirements are fulfilled.
• Explain features, advantages, and disadvantages of various policies to promote sales.
• Calculate premiums and establish payment method
• Attend meetings, seminars and programs to learn about new products and services, learn new skills, and receive technical assistance in developing new accounts
• Support, develop and maintain relationships with all customers.
• Work closely with other team members to ensure caller data, status, and inquiries are accurate and being properly addressed.
• Utilize necessary resources and navigate systems efficiently to accurately verify and provide accurate information to prospects.
• Generate enrollments using available education on Medicare and the various health plans.
• Perform special projects as needed and member overflow duties, as requested.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
• Ability to remain confidential with all proprietary information.
• Adherence to all NationsBenefits, HIPAA, and MCO / Medicare guidelines.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by Management based business demands.
• Complete training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of company and position.
Skill Requirements:
• Quick learner and self-motivated
• Ability to work as a team member or independently
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Good knowledge of relevant computer programs (e.g. CRM software) and telephone systems
• Calm under pressure
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Professional presentation and demeanor
• An ever-positive attitude and patience, with a strong personal drive to help people.
• Broad knowledge of the Insurance industry
• Outstanding negotiation skills with the ability to resolve issues and address complaints
• Computer literacy, with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
• Fluency in two or more languages is a plus.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on operational demands (day, night, weekends, holidays)
Qualifications & Educational Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent. College degree is preferred
• Have a valid state resident 2-40 Health License &/or 2-15 Health, Life & Annuity.
• 2 – 5 years as a telesales representative or other sales/customer service role
• Proven track record of successfully meeting sales quota preferably over the phone
