CAM Continuing Education Requirements:


CAM licensees are required to complete 15 hours of state-approved continuing education courses prior to the expiration of their license on September 30, 2026.

HOA-CAM licensees are required to complete 17 hours of state-approved continuing education courses prior to the expiration of their license on September 30, 2026. At least 5 hours should be related to homeowners’ associations, 3 of which must be related to recordkeeping.

Continuing education can be achieved through classroom, livestream, online, and correspondence courses.

A licensee initially licensed within the current renewal period (October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2026) is exempt from the current continuing education requirements until the end of the next renewal cycle.

Effective July 1, 2024, a licensee is exempt from current continuing education requirements if they meet all the following criteria: they hold an active license, have held their license continuously for at least 10 years, and no discipline has been imposed against the license.

What topics are covered in the 15-Hour vs. 17-Hour CAM continuing education packages?

The 15-Hour CAM CE package covers the following requirements:

  • 3 hours of additional instruction (ELE) from IR, IFM, or OPP
  • 3 hours of Human Resources (HR)
  • 3 hours of Insurance and Financial Management (IFM)
  • 3 hours of Legal Update Seminar (LU)
  • 3 hours of Operational of Physical Property (OPP)

The 17-Hour HOA-CAM CE package includes the following from above, HR, IFM, OPP, LU and the HOA requirements:

  • 3 hours of HOA Recordkeeping (EH1-HOA)
  • 2 hours of HOA Specific (EH2-HOA)

Can I complete my Florida CAM continuing education completely online?

Absolutely! Florida allows you to fulfill your CAM continuing education courses completely online. In addition, Gold Coast Schools offers multiple learning formats, including classroom, livestream, and correspondence options as well.

When is my Florida CAM continuing education due, and what happens if I miss the deadline?

CAM continuing education is due on September 30th, even years. If you miss completing the CAM CE or paying the renewal fee to the DBPR by your renewal deadline, your license will become “Delinquent, Active”, and you will need to complete the requirements to renew your license.

How long does it take to complete the CAM continuing education courses at Gold Coast Schools?

CAM continuing education correspondence and online courses are studied at your own pace. Some CAMs find they complete the courses quickly while others like to take their time over several days. If you choose classroom or livestream to complete the CAM CE packages, all the courses in the package will be completed in two days.
