Broad technical work reviewing permit application documents for construction, demolition, alterations and repairs in the areas of building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, gas, ADA, and other areas to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local codes, ordinances and laws.
This opening is for a Plans Examiner Ill position but may consider candidates that qualify for Plans Examiner I or Plans Examiner II.
Requires an associate’s degree, vocational technical degree or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college education and at least three years of related construction experience or the completion of five years of related construction or building inspection/plans examiner experience. Must have DBPR certification as a plans examiner.
Pay grade is dependent upon experience and certification.
