Plumber – Residential/General Maintenance Service for the Hollywood Reservation

The position is based on the Hollywood Reservation located at 3321 North SR-7, Hollywood, FL 33021 and covers Seminole Residences up to a 100 mile radius. There are work vehicles assigned to the department you can use between locations.

The staff schedule is full-time Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with an overnight on-call rotation that includes Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade County. In case of extreme weather, such as hurricanes, the Housing department is considered essential staff so the team may need to change the work schedule to work evenings and weekends to assist the community.

Position Summary

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing fixtures, water circulation, irrigation systems and accessories on the STOF Housing residential facilities of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The work involves the application of standard trade practices in maintaining and installing a variety of plumbing systems and fixtures. The individual is responsible for determining the materials and work methods that will be used. Assignments come in oral and written form, sometimes accompanied by sketches, from a superior plumber or similar technical superior. Work is inspected during process and upon completion for workmanship, compliance with instructions and specifications, and for adherence to regulatory codes.

Qualifications / Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. Licensed Plumber is preferred. Some vocational training or job-related coursework, or, completion of an instructional program that prepares individuals to apply technical plumbing knowledge and skills is preferred. A minimum of (2) two years of experience as a skilled plumber directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified herein; or any equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and must be able to travel to all STOF Reservations and other locations as necessary.
