Minimum Qualifications
Possess two years of field experience in the HVHZ. Completing an eight-hour HVHZ training course approved by the BORA may substitute for the required HVHZ experience. Plus, meet one of the following requirements: (1) Five years of construction experience in a supervisory capacity AND either a. Current GC license issued by Florida CILB, OR b. Current GC license and a current Certificate of Competency issued by the MDC CTQB; OR (2) Two years of construction experience and a. Associate of Science Degree in Building Code Enforcement OR b. Construction-related curriculum awarded for completion of an educational course accepted by BORA & a current GC license issued by the Florida CILB, OR c. Current GC Certificate of Competency or Certificate of Eligibility issued by the MDC CTQB; OR (3) A current registration from the State of Florida as a Registered Architect or Professional Engineer and building construction experience; OR (4) Five years of experience in the construction industry and certification as a Building Inspector (Commercial Roofing) in MDC & holding a current Certificate of Competency or a Certificate of Eligibility from the MDC CTQB or the Florida CILB as a General Contractor. Must possess a Driver s License.

Recruitment Notes
Position listed requires examination of existing buildings and structures to determine if a violation exist and if buildings and structures poses a structural life safety hazard. Ability to facilitate compliance of non-compliance buildings and structures. Investigates complaints for construction without permits, building recertification non-compliance, and structural life safety concerns with written and photographic documentation. Notifying responsible party of violations and non-compliant violation. Requires written and photographic documentation to be uploaded into case files with the ability to use the computer at the office and in the field. Organize and conduct field inspections with County vehicle. Must be able to testify in panel and board hearing proceedings. Ability to answer phone calls, response to e-mails and conduct in-person meetings with the public.
